18th-Century French Engravings - A Pair


A pair of antique, 18th-century French hand-tinted engravings or gravures from a series of "Paysages Italiens". "Vue de Giovenazzo, petite ville de la Pouille, Situee sur les bords de la Mer." "Vue des Rochers volcaniques dans [?] formee en grande partie la coste de Sorrente, sur le bord de la Mer d Naples." Designed by Cassas (1756-1827); engraved by Cogny, P.V. Framed early- to mid-20th century, with grass cloth mats in gold gilt and wood hexagonal frames. 14ʺW × 1ʺD × 9.75ʺH. Very good condition. A few spots of wear to the frames and a little age darkening to the engravings.
