An 18th-century, c. 1730-1750 Irish bureau plat writing desk, featuring dramatic contrast between the main body of lustrous rosewood and the stained ebonized legs, which are richly carved and end in lion's paw feet. The three drawers have rare Irish marquetry with a stylized floral pattern in multicolored woods with details stained green and red. A slight serpentine front with rounded corners. 41.5ʺW × 20ʺD × 30.5ʺH Very good condition. Please note loss to veneer front left, roughness to surface treatment top left side, what looks to be an early repair to the back right leg, and damage to the front and back right paws
