Lover's Eye Painting on a Pink Dish with Birds

Lover's Eye miniature paintings were popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries (Georgian and Regency periods), and were frequently incorporated in rings and lockets. This is a larger, modern version in oil, on a vintage dish with a deep pink background, gold border designs, and cartouches of birds. Avon 1985, after French porcelain, c. 1750. 4.25"x1".
