Mid-Century Swedish Handmade Red Ceramic Glogg 12 Cups & 12 Saucers


A set of vintage, mid-century Scandinavian modern 12 cups or small mugs and 12 saucers, Swedish, for glögg (mulled wine). The cups have with clean mid-century lines and chunky straight handles and the saucers have smooth surfaces; signed on the bottom. Handmade ceramic stoneware with a red and brown glaze. The cups measure 4" by 2.5" by 2.75" high, and the saucers are 4.5" wide. Made in Sweden, c. 1960s, and from a Swedish estate. "Glögg" means "glowing embers" and recipes call for red wine and some combination of port, brandy, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, orange peel, raisins, and almonds. 1 cup has 2 chips; 1 cup has 1; as shown.
