Reserved - New! - Lover's Eye Painting in a Cobalt and Gilt Florentine Frame

Lover's Eye miniature paintings were popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries (Georgian and Regency periods), and were frequently incorporated in rings and lockets. This is a larger, modern version in oil, on an antique Florentine, Italian frame with cobalt blue, deep red, and gold giltwood. The eye is painted on top of the glass; under the glass is an antique scrolled gilt print. 4"x5".
