New! - Lover's Eye Painting on a "Florentine" Cream Relief Plate

Lover's Eye miniature paintings were popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries (Georgian and Regency periods), and were frequently incorporated in rings and lockets. This is a larger, modern version in oil, on a vintage saucer with raised relief border of fruits, with lightly scalloped edges and gold gilt trim, in the "Florentine" pattern by Crown Ducal, made in England. 4 5/8"
