Each mirror will be completed with a custom Lover’s Eye portrait, hand-painted by Susannah Carson for the purchaser and painted on the original mirrored oval medallion above the main mirror plate.\u003cspan class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach has a rectangular tin-mercury-amalgam-backed mirror plate surrounded by an overlapping gilt border. The lower sections terminate in pierced scrolling cartouches. The pierced centers were more recently used to secure the mirrors to the wall but were probably originally intended to accommodate girandole candle holders.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe mirrors retain attractively aged plates with characteristic spotting and oxidation. One mirror plate has significant dulling, while the other remains clearer. Neoclassical in overall conception, with lingering Rococo elements.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe purchaser may provide photographs of the eyes to be portrayed.
