Yes. No. Sometimes..... Sign up for my newsletter, and I'll let you know when I can take in a few commissions.

No: decorative only! They're oil paintings on what happen to be plates, and so they cannot endure use.

Included are metal wire-spring plate hangers. They're tricky to put on, but they do the job.

If a plate is too small, large, delicate, or unwieldy for a hanger, a stand will be included.

***If you have a plate we sent with a sticky back hanger, please write us for a wire hanger. Although the sticky back hangers are invisible, they're not reliable in weather extremes. Sorry! We found out the hard way. If you prefer an invisible hanger, you can purchase a plate disc on Amazon or eBay, but we've found that these are similarly unreliable. They can be used, however, if you supplement them with your own strong adhesive.***

So the ink doesn't rub off, I use a special ceramic paint pen that requires baking in the oven. Since I have to do this first, I sign at what I think will be the bottom and date it to the year I think I'll be able to paint it in, but then the painting might end up at a slightly different orientation (or upside-down) and be done the following year. Since frequently there will also be a maker's stamp or signature on the base of the pottery, I like how the combination of all these different marks of provenance adds to the history of the piece.

N.B. Even still, these ceramic paint pens aren't 100% when baked, and some of the very old plates can't be baked at all, so please be a little careful if you'd like to keep the signature.

(No one has actually voiced this question, but I imagine quizzical expressions upon seeing the backs of the plates!)

Usually not. But please feel free to use different discounts for different orders.

The Newsletter discount will be sent via an automatic introductory note sent to the email you entered. Please check your spam folder if it doesn't appear in your inbox.

The Text Messaging discount will be sent via an automatic text message to the phone number you entered. It takes a minute or two.

*If you do not receive your discount code, please let us know!*

We've recently married and are still located in two places: my husband has a farmhouse in Northern Oregon, and I have a tiny studio-house is in the Napa Valley, California. If you order multiple items, there's a chance you'll receive boxes from both locations.

You will receive an automatic message with the tracking number as soon as we have your package ready to ship.

Usually we use USPS, but occasionally we use UPS.

I frequently post paintings immediately upon completion, and sometimes I need to wait a few days before shipping to make sure the paint is dry. Thanks for your patience!

If a package is marked "Delivered" and you think it might not have been, please check with your local USPS (or UPS) first, as they'll know what's happened better than we will.

Contact us with any shipping questions you can't otherwise resolve, and my husband, Mike, will get back to you!

Very rarely, and despite our best efforts, our packaging does not survive the attack of the gorillas at the post office. In this case, you will be entitled to your choice of a replacement (when available) or a full refund.

We will file the insurance claim on our side, so we ask that you pretty please help us out by taking photos of the unboxing (as soon as you suspect damage) and any breakage within.

We'll do everything to make sure you end up with a piece you love!

Yes - besides your dog, of course!
